First Snowy Footsteps

20/01/2013 By Kirsty 5 Comments

Our part of England has been covered in a powder of fluffy, white snow for a few days now.  Last year Blue wasn’t old enough to walk in the snow and although he loved playing with snow when we bought large bowls of it inside for him to touch, taste, mix and scoop, this year he has taken his first snowy footsteps.

At first he wasn’t too happy about the snow, he was actually quite frightened when we first ventured out into our new, snow-covered world.  As the days have gone by and the snow keeps falling he has become used to his new environment and now it is actually more difficult to get him to come indoors.

We have been digging…

We have been sledging…

We went walking in the woods and trudging through snow that comes up to Blue’s knees!  It has been a magical few days as the world around us has been transformed into Narnia.  We have been laughing, sliding and scuffling through the white stuff and tea and crumpets taste even better at the end of a day spent in the snow.

What wonderful now to enjoy too. That is more than just a flurry you have there! Our sledge is still hanging in the shed and we have not had a flake. Loving looking at everyone else’s fun though and your little boy’s face is a picture with the snow! Thank you for linking up to Country Kids.

You are right, we had about 25cm in the end. More than just a flurry!

The forest looks magical with the snow. Looks like Blue’s first experience of snow was a hit. (popping over from Country Kids)

The last photo looks really magical. Z loved the snow for a bit but then kept saying he was cold and I ended up taking him back indoors. I’m hoping today he loves it! 🙂
